Roadtrip!!!...Niagara Falls!

We had to do it!! How could you not?! Particularly after knowing that we are moving back to our Island over the Summer!

Downside? I had to drive (yes, drive!!) there and back (over 8+ hours each way when you factor a child) because my husband let his license expire! But now that I have that drive under my belt, all I can say to him is: TAKE THAT! LOL. In addition, the weather was not too cooperative with us as we had wet snow! (yes you read correctly) at the end of April!! Nonetheless, when it stopped, we did get to experience the Maid of the Mist boat ride and the falls up close and personal :)

Now we feel accomplished and we can cross one more thing off our list! Enjoy some pictures!

Update: I added some more pictures!

At the hotel after a long day of driving!

It was a gloomy and cold day but the attraction was still operating. We got lucky!

Horseshoe Falls or the Canadian Falls. Did you know that only 10% of the water falls on the American side?!

We treated ourselves to some dessert at Hard Rock Café, Niagara Falls!

Happy Birthday to my other half!

Last Monday, my husband celebrated his.... TWENTY-SOMETHING birthday! (ha, I think he would kill me if I posted his age)  As we are far away from home, I think he felt a little sad about it so I decided to throw a last minute surprise birthday with some of his friends here!

It was great! I spent all day decorating his cake (even though it was girly as I was practicing for Eli's first birthday) and put up a few decorations.

I want to thank our friends who took a little bit of their time to spend it with DH. We really appreciated it!

Here are some of the pictures we took. Please excuse the resolution as they are phone pictures and it was dark.

Happy Easter!!!

My family and I hope that everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed Easter yesterday!

For us, Easter is much more than eggs and a bunny; Easter is the culmination of Holy Week and a reminder of our salvation through Jesus Christ! Our day yesterday started with the Resurrection service at church followed by a Easter lunch with some of the families here at Seminary. What did you do on Easter Sunday?

This was our Easter lunch with fellow Seminarians and spouses.

Happy, Happy Birthday to...ME!

This year my birthday was on Holy Week, as it has been many times before. But, this year was even more special: it was on Sábado de Gloria (Easter eve) and my mom and sister were here to celebrate with me! Why do I get so excited about that fact, you may ask? Well, my mother has 2 degenerative conditions that throughout the years have affected her health greatly and her being here was nothing short of a miracle! She had been in the hospital the weekend before coming here!

All in all, we had a great week with both of them visiting and the birthday celebration was a success! Thank you to my friends and family who took some of their time to come celebrate with me. It really meant a lot!

Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

My amazing cake baked by me, decorated by my mom!

April 1st...

Marks the start of the best month in our little family: both my husband and I celebrate our birthdays this month!!!

Today is also April Fool's Day!!! I remember everyone trying to play all kinds of jokes on you and now with Facebook and other social media, the jokes have gone to another level! Now pregnancy or wedding announcements are what's in.  Did you know that the earliest recorded association between this date and jokes/foolishness can be found in Canterbury Tales (1392)? As part of April Fool's, let's share your favorite/best prank, either that you executed or that was played on you! Let's hear them!!

Lastly, today is also the start of Holy Week with Palm Sunday. For Catholics as myself and some Protestants, this marks the start of the most important week during the church calendar.

This morning we went to church and DH served as one of the disciples sitting alongside Jesus during the Last Supper.

And Eli celebrated her first Palm Sunday, waving the palms during Jesus' triumphant entrance!
